Shortcuts for Social Networking Sites

A lot of people use social media as its a great way to stay connected with your friends and family. Some people deal with social media many times a day. So it would be easier if they learn some keyboard shortcuts, keyboard shortcuts for some basic functions. So here we go.....

The three most important social media are Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter.

Shortcuts for Facebook:

Facebook has based its shortcuts on the browser. So, shortcuts of FB will vary from browser to browser. In Firefox, you will need to add a Shift key before the key combinations given below. In Internet Explorer you need to hit Enter after the combination. Same goes for Mac, except that of Firefox, you need to press Ctrl insteas of Shift and rest of the keys should be same.

Key Combinations for Twitter:

 

Twitter Shortcuts are easier to use and remember. Twitter even displays the whole list of shortcuts in a pop-up so you can easily look for action you want. To bring up this pop-up, simply press the "?" (shift+/) key.

Shortcuts For Google Plus:

Google Plus has its share of shortcuts even, but they are relatively fewer, and they can only be activated in certain instances, such as when a post or a particular section of the website is in focus.

K - Go to Previous Item In the Stream
J - Go to Next Item In the stream
Q - Search for People to chat with when the chat window is active
Space - Scroll Down
Enter - Start new comment (when focuse on a post)
Shift+Space - Scroll Down
Enter+tab - End Comment
@ or + - Tag a Person
