Huawei Ascend G300 Specs, Pros and Cons

This is a smart-phone-on-a-budget. So here goes the specifications, pros and cons of this phone.

Pros
  • Build Quality : It will be love at first site with this phone. Inspite of the wide use of plastic in its fabrication, its fine craftsmanship, coupled with a faux metal look, makes it feel like premium phone. The Ascend G300 is great to hold, with sturdy buttons. In addition to all this, it doesn't suffer from heating issues - like most of the smart phones do.
  • Performance : The Ascend G300 is good at multi-tasking and gaming. What's especially nice thing in this phone is how it instantly resumes from sleep state, whereas most other budget Androids take a few Seconds to wake up.
  Cons
  • Touchscreen : The 4-inch IPS LCD screen is bright and its colors appear vibrant, but when it comes to navigation and usability. It just doesn't match up. Users need to exert more pressure than what is normal with capacitive touch screen. This means that it's a pain to play games like Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds and Temple Run.
  • OS customization : The G300 can easily handle the Android 2.3 Gingerbread that it comes with, but the custom user interface that Huawei has loaded on top of it slows the phone down to quite annoying degree. It's not a smooth and fluid experience.]
  • It lags while typing.
