How To Remove Write Protection

Now, if the disks are write protected we will not be able to transfer even a thing into the disk from our PC. Most of you might have faced this problem and, matter of a fact, even I did. Well, sometimes this might be a manufacturing defect. But if it is not a manufacturing defect, here is the way to remove write protection.

How to Remove Write Protection
  • Open Start Menu and then to 'Run', type rededit and press 'Enter'. Now you will be able to see the registry editor.
  • Now, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES and then to System. Then go to CurrentControlSet. There click on Control and go to StorageDevicePolicies
    The whole process is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/StorageDevicePolicies
There, double click the key Write Protect in the right pane and set the value to zero.
    That's it. You're done.
